How come nobody posts about the Mini-Tool?
on: May 26, 2008, 08:16:59 AM
I was just going through Leatherman's history on their website, and am wondering why I've not read a single post about their Mini-tool.  It seems pretty interesting as it is supposed to have full-size pliers.

good question. I have never used it much, maybe because of the small implements?

There's actually been a couple of fairly big threads about them in the past couple of months. Hawkchucker and Spoonrobot if i remember rightly talked about them quite a bit :)

You're right!

I thought I went through all the posts, page-by-page for at least a few months, but I seem to have missed them!

Here's Spoonrobot's:

I just read Spoonrobot's photo review and the Mini-Tool is actually even better than I was hoping.  I've got one on the way and am more excited about it, than any other tool I've gotten so far!

I don't think I'll have the heart to actually use it though...  It'll remain as a collector's item for me.

Leatherman Mini Tool Review

I think most folks don't discuss it simply because it wasn't around long, it wasn't all that useful and most folks don't have one.  It was an interesting idea, but unfortunately very limited and it died a quick death.

I have the tool in BO and shiney. I actually like the thing and really cant bring myself to use the new one. I just wish they would figure out how to bring the tool back and make some small improvements. I mean really they did it with the wave and the surge. Why not the mini!

I still like the pliers better than any Juice or the Squirts. But hey that  is just me.

The MiniTool is one of those tools that I keep saying I'm going to get, but never do.

You'll have to let us know what you think about it Ultimaonliner.

I like my Mini. Very pocketable, with full size pliers;it makes a great compliment to a SAK or another multi. The on-board tools leave a lot to be desired though, but if it's used in conjunction with another tool,it's no big deal to me then.

ive got a mini-tool i havent ever used,i gave it as a gift to my dad about.......12 yrs? ago,and he passed away while back, and the mini floated back to me.its like new,my dad has polished it though thruly and made a sheath to it,that carries it horisontally.if i remember right,it had already a small leather holder, but not a belt-carryin type,as new.
