Hercules Multitool - NOT an SAK
on: January 30, 2014, 06:54:18 PM
Saw this one yesterday.  Wow!  This one has a little bit of everything.  No way to confuse this tool with the ordinary run of the mill multitool. Every Steam Punk afficianado should have one of these hanging from their belt.  Although this photo doesn't show it well, it has the name Hercules stamped on it.

I snagged this photo of it off the web to post here.  Very cool and just completely out of the ordinary. I'm hoping Bob has one to show off here.

Yup. That is a weird (and dangerously pokey) looking old thing. Very cool.

Right?  Looks like the love child of an original PST and a 1950's era Erector set.

Surely one of the most "multi" multitools that were ever made? ;)

Some were stamped HERCULES, and some were stamped GLOB, but they were all stamped GERMANY. The Brazil company that Dave references must be related somehow perhaps?

No doubt,  do you have one of each?

I do. :) My "Hercules" is in rough shape, but the "GLOB" is still pretty nice. I did a picture thread about it a few years ago: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=13239.

Believe so, many germans came to Brazil, most of them went to the southern part of the Country, the Brazilian Hercules exists in Brazil since 1866, they started producing tools in 1900 and bike tools around 1920, I believe...

Or maybe its just a ripoff of the name and purpose, made by some european immigrant...
