My first SAK Mod :D

I bought a Vic Swiss Memory 58mm from ebay, and after I'd ordered it I noticed that it was actually missing the memory stick! Teach me to read things properly I guess, but anyway, when it arrived I wondered if I could "cut it down" a bit and remove the gaping hole where the memory should be.

So armed with my Charge TTi, Crunch, Proxxon, selection of hammers and some tips from scribeer on this forum, I had a crack at it.

It took me a couple of hours, and I made a bit of a mess of removing the first pin (broke the drill bit in there - oops  ::) ), so its a bit ugly on one of the rivets, but otherwise I'm pretty chuffed!

What do you guys think?

I used to come here a lot.

Excellent!     

Looks like it turned out just fine.   

Save your drill bits next time and just remove the brass above the surface of the handles.    Then you can use a thin punch (or a broken drillbit upside down) to push the pin out.

You're now one up on me for 58mm alox mods.   :D

That's great work!

ALOX Classics are pretty slim and handy little things to have on your keys- I have a SwissMemory but I never use it as I find it too bulky anyway.
