That's all. The Subject says it all.

It's snowy here now. No walking, no biking. The only option left is my exercise bike. It's a good bike, works well, and is comfortable. That doesn't mean I don't hate it.

I think I need a candy bar.

Just thinking about exercising makes me hungry. I'll take the dog for a good long walk after dinner.

They're soooooo boring. Half the fun of riding is the fact that the scenery and technical parts distract you from the fact that you're working out. Sooooo not the case on stationary bikes

I'm a total legend..... in my own mind- Herley

I'd use a trainer every now and again and yes it's not fun.  Treadmills are the same IMO so what's the option?  YOGA.  I freaking love YOGA.

Candy bar................................  I just had honey roasted peanuts mmmmm.

Love that

Lynn, I know exactly what you mean.....they are insanely boring.
When all is said and done, all you're doing is raising your heart beat. Why not tog up and get outside, sweep paths, wash car, rake grass etc etc.

Or how about a rowing machine?? Or simply a  walk. I think cold winter air feels exhilarating and works up a great appetite
mmm, thick homemade soup with crusty bread..yum yum!

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I can't stand trading in doors, when I had my gym membership all I kept thinking was I should be outdoors,no weather stops my cycling and I love riding in the snow on my MTB,I used a turbo trainer back in the early 90's too warm up before a ride in cold weather but there is nothing like being outside  :tu:

I'm going to try to snow shoe a lot this year.
But I also will be trying to use the bike. Good luck to us all. Pass the chips please.

I'm with Zed. :tu: It doesn't snow much where I live, but I tried a static trainer for a couple of winters to try to keep my fitness up.  Sold it and bought some decent lights, waterproofs and mudguards instead after spending way too much time staring at the back or the garage door.  Love riding in the winter, especially in the dark.  To quote the Rules: If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Same here. Just picked up a better pair. My old ones were intro-level and the bindings were terrbile to tighten/adjust with gloves on.

So... looking for novel ways to avoid the exercise bike, I realized that it was in the basement. Down stairs. So, I just went down and up my basement stairs a bunch of times, then walked circuits of my basement, more stairs, more circuits.

Still better than the exercise bike.
