The only SOG I own is this Spec-Elite I (VG-10 steel, 4" drop point). It's a great slicer! I got a killer dealer on this used one, on EDC Forums, a while back.  No regrets!

After carrying a Buck 110 for so long, this one seemed feather light, by comparison.

This is an older shot, but the Spec-Elite I is the fifth from the left:

Shucks, gotta work on my id'ing.. Nice! I got kenda challengers on amazon this year for $120 shipped for my pair, and they too, are very grippy, with tread depth like a snow tire

They look good!

I added pics for ya...

I agree they are fantastic. My only complaint is I cheaped out on the m16 when I bought it, and ended up with the part serrated tanto... if I could do it again, id get the plain edge spearpoint.

Istead of saving $10, Ill end up spending an extra $30

Nice pic! I like the Spear point/bayonet plain edge myself also. The M-16 was my first flipper. Carried one for years til I got my Vulcan. The M-16s are a great knife for little money.

Yeah thats why I carry em, good and cheap.

On a side note, do you know any way to squeeze 4 long tools into the PPP? I got the saw in cuz it's thin and bendy, but it only works on one side. Will another long tool, like the v cutter fit on the other side?

Not that I am aware of. The PPP your are pretty much stuck with two long tools and the rest short. The powerlock will get you 4 long tools, but it is not as compact as the PPP.

Thats what I figured, just thought it'd be worth asking. I actually have most of a OG powerlock (SOG has graciously sent e new jaws and handle covers free!) But getting the tools to lock up is too fiddly for it to be useful... cap lifter keeps overclosing, and lockup is very iffy on the other side too.

Might be worth sending it in. The cap lifter does not hit the bottom of the handle like the other tools do. When it does, it has over extended and will not allow it to lock up. The other side, not sure whats going on there. Do yours have the gear covers?

nope, and lever locks. Like I said, Original Powerlock.

Would putting something under the caplifter help?

Looking at mine, I dont see why not. Looks like those a Millie Meters there to glue something there and you have some space between the cap lifter and the 1/4 inch driver. Sounds very doable to me. Mine does this over extend sometimes. I just hold my thumb on the tools by the pivot when I close the knife blade if that makes any sense.

Very pleased with this setup
