I am asking others to feel free to post their times here.  Time is from just before puncture to a freed lid.

My first head to head when I get a chance will be the Vic Farmer against the LM pst.  If it is three cans I will add a wenger or a combo tool scientist/waiter.

The Vic-style can opener on the SOG Powerlock would mutilate a can instead of penetrating it. Yes. Total Fail. Airballrad had one of these that did the same thing too. Weird, I know.

I figured out how to use the SOG can opener. Still not a great opener, but by no means the worst one I have used. The problem with the SOG can opener is it is ground backwards that of a vic can opener. Kinda looks like a mirror image. Set them side by side and that a look. You will see what I am talking about.

*compares* aaah, I see, then the placing in my Switchplier makes sense, too, it's a lefthanded canopener :P

This wasn't the problem (or the only problem) with mine. The place on the 'blade' of the opener where it's supposed to puncture the can initially was crazy blunt. Way worse than the Juice S2. It would bend the can instead of cutting into it.

I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to mean.

So, feel free to ask Airballrad what HIS experience was with the can opener on the Powerlock.

Also: time test on the Wingman today: 30 seconds flat. 2 rim jumps.

Before the contest I thought SAK would win. As mentioned before a SAK is my favorite multitool and folding knife.  I have a Vic SPartan Lite on a lanyard around my neck right now.  At work today I carried a 84 mm Vic Sportsman in my pocket.

I was pretty surprised at my initial time of 22 seconds with the PST.

I really think that Tim Leatherman wanted a better/faster can opener than what was offered by Victroinox and Wenger as they were the industry standard for multi tool can openers.

The day I can go faster than 20 seconds with the wenger or vic openers I will be faster than 16 seconds with the Leatherman PST.

Also not mentioned, the pst opener is a combo tool as it opens bottles or cans.  Good Job Tim.

What? You've got your own can openers, right? Test and post times. You don't have to be a passive consumer here. Be an active participant!

 :o  :ahhh  :ahhh Spam?
Saying that doing what I'm doing/not doing more/less often,
i.e. opening (using) cans (canned food) less often is spam?
Well, if doing/not doing things and therefore talking about the very same done/undone things is spam, then perhaps you're right. There, in the land of spam, are probably all things a kind od spam, aren't they?

Summary - for those from the land of Spam:

Luna Knife has promised to do a a further test/contest (I like them!). I took a look. There was no new contest, and I put a waiting smiley. Then Lynn replied, and I replied to her.
Of course, in the land of Spam, that would be Spam, right?

Final 1 million dollar question - that would be hard if you have already used all three lifelines:

Am I spamming right now answering someone from land of spam, who often use (opens) cans, and cannot understand that other people around the globe don't use (open) cans so often like he does? :pok:

Otherwise, you're certainly a great joker, but this time ...

Caranthanus... if you look at the side bar, under 'country' (just under your avatar picture and post count), until you fill that in in your profile, it shows up as 'spam', because people creating spam accounts usually make one post, and never fill in their account info. I think Freaver meant it to be a joke.

Also... you might want to go into your Profile -> Forum Profile, and update your country entry. Then it'll show a little flag for your country, and mousing over it will let people read the country name.

I see that Lynn was a bit quicker than myself. As she says, it was meant as a joke, regarding your "flag". I didn't even know that the Spam-"flag" was set by default; I thought it was chosen by the user, for those paranoid types, that don't want other people to even know what country they're from.
Hope you didn't take any offense from the slight misunderstanding. :-)
And, lastly, my apologies to Luna Knife, for contributing to more off-topic. :-)
