That stings
Hope it wasn’t too irritating.
Oh that thing is/was nasty, we were getting ready to go to dinner when I got stung, I was taking one of the dogs out because we were leaving and I got stung, and talk about irritating, I doubt it’s what caused it but it could have part of it but I ended up having a seizure while we were at dinner, by the time we got home the bump you see in the pic went away, but under the skin there was a larger bump, it’s still there but it’s shrinking, just slowly,,

The Mrs ordered these hooks cause she wanted them mounted at the back door and going down the stairs, so I got this idea since I had some scrap 2x’s from the porch project but I think it worked, an absolute twisted board with a plank screwed into the top to give it a little shelf and the hooks somewhat eyeballed, but that thing is screwed into two stud with 3” deck screws, I don’t think that things going anywhere, and each hook is rated for 35lbs! That should be good no?

Why is the light going back?

Because it's too cheap to keep.
The tail magnet is barely strong enough to keep the light on a surface.
The pocket clip was very misaligned, and although it has three screws, it still wobbles.
I have to cycle through all modes in order to turn it off. Or wait 30 seconds and then turn it off with a single click.
It felt very cheap in hand, with gaps in the frame.

The only thing I liked was the dimensions, but that was not enough to save it.

So an Modretro Chromatic in Blue, the Batterie Pack, Tetris (was bundled whit the Chromatic) which is a quite good Tetris Version for an Gameboy, Toki Tori Ultimate, Projekt S-10, Gravitourque DX, and not from Modretro but from Krizz: The Gameboy EverDrive X7, I had an GB EverDrive bevor but it was an old Version, this one got even an Button you can Press while you play an Gameboy Game for stuff like even Safestates ..

Good reasons. I'll avoid that particular flashlight; I'm thinking my next one will be a Lumintop Tool AA.

How do they compare with Knypex? I've tried to find the brand around these parts, but no luck. Maybe I'll look for these instead.

WorkPro mini pliers and ratchet!

I like the little ratchet and bit set in a tin. Shame they couldn't squeeze a short bit extension in there, in the space on the left...

The WorkPro pliers are solid, fit and finish is fine, nothing to complain about. Nice and smooth. The button works properly. Having a button means that the WorkPro pliers do not slide as easily as the Knipex into a pocket etc.
The WorkPro pliers are about a 1/4" longer than the Knipex. The teeth are not as aggressive, but they do grab. Very slippery compared to the Knipex. Worth the 1/3 of the price. The Knipex is of course better.

That's just a plastic thing, not a tin. But a tin would have been nice.

This was a freebie. It could work as a standalone EDC tool, having all the most important tools and not looking too much like a knife. Let's see if it gets pocket time.

(Image removed from quote.)

When the postman brought this, I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning.

The reveal:

Been wanting to get a decent electric screwdriver for some time. I'm going to have several pieces of flat pack furniture to build shortly (a job I really enjoy doing!) and this gave me the impetus to get one.  Before this I've only had a crappy little gun-shaped one that only had one torque setting, and was too weak to do much. So it was either manual screwdriving, or using my big old corded hammer drill, which is not exactly perfect for the job. We will see how good this is, but Wiha never sold me any crappy tools yet.

The 30-bit box is a very nice inclusion:

Wiha bits are really good of course, and the selection here is well thought out. Instead of 30 different bits including a bunch you will never use, it covers the main bases but gives you multiples of the most-used bits - so 3x PH2 and PZ2, 2x PH1 and PZ1, etc.

I have an Armbar Scout, and it's overall a decent tool. However, it has an obnoxious pocket clip, which means I don't carry it much. That might be a little different if the pocket clip is removable.

I can see what a drag it would be to have this in early November. Here in the southern UK, we have the opposite problem, winters don't feel like winters any more because we hardly ever get snow.  Last year our kids got one chance to play in the snow, and it involved letting them go out after dark and we brought our flashights. They loved it, but it's not like when I was a kid and we would get weeks and weeks with thick snow on the ground, and we would have our sledges out at every chance. This time, it was likely that by the next morning the snow would be mostly melted, and it proved to be the case.

It snowed in my neck of the woods, too. Good thing it didn't accumulate on roads or driveways...yet. Before I went to U.S Navy "A" school, I saw snow only three or four times in my life. And I ain't gonna deal with it after this winter is over. Enough is enough.
