Nice lights! Back in the day I would replace one of the reverse lights with a very bright, like 55 lumen light, so when you put it in reverse it would really light up what was behind you, on top of that they also had a noise maker that you would stick on the light, I’d put it on the other, and once it would notice the light coming from the other side it would start making noise, beep beep beep.. so it was an easy stick on reverse alarm..

I look at the Jeep thread all the time,I just do not post there.

Since no one checks the Jeep thread, I’ll post instead..

Anyway...
Replaced the tired and dated looking 1980s auxiliary reverse lights with some more  discreet LED lights.

Latest for me? SwissBuck Taskmate I. My mother found it in some of her old stuff today and thought I'd like to have it. She was correct. Very correct. Indeed, my mother is cool!  :woohoo:

Nice one! I have a SwissBuck Sidekick (Wenger Traveler variation) and the clip blade is nice, and the scales appear durable and have good grip  :tu:

What's the relevance of "cleanskin"?

It has no stampings of any kind on the handles  The only writing on it is on the plier head with Leatherman and USA and on the knife blade with Leatherman USA :tu: Therefore someone has in MTO history called them "cleanskin" as per the no writing on the outside :tu:

I have seen only one version that is possibly older and that is one that J-sews has with only Leatherman on the plier head and Hoffritz on it

The full sized Land Cruiser or Land Cruiser Amazon as we call it here in Europe; has been my dream SUV for a long time!

They are sooo expensive over here though...not just to buy, but to own too, tax and insurance is astronomical on those..

Ah, ok  :tu: Thanks for the explanation. My first thought was no advertising, but I hadn't recalled seeing a corporate logo on any of your earlier Mini pics. I'm clueless when it comes to the various collectability nuances of individual tools.  :)

Yeah pretty much surprised when I got it... Disassembled it right away for proper cleaning, lube and blade sharpening and light autosol polishing with my rotary tool... well after I switched the plier head, small SD And 1 knurled screw with the PST II...

And the bottle opener is damascus...

Good work then on the PST. Rewarding to breathe new life into an old tool and give it some love.  :tu:

I have seen only one version that is possibly older and that is one that J-sews has with only Leatherman on the plier head and Hoffritz on it

My understanding is that the
"cleanskin" minis were the first version, followed by the
"US Pat Pend" version, then came the
"US PAT 4744272" without date codes, then came
"US PAT 4744272" with date codes (earliest date I have is 0395, latest is 0699), the last version had
"TOOL" on the pliers (I have 0102 and 0404).

Almost all the earlier ones had "USA" on the piers.  I suspect that LM produced a small quantity of mini/PST pliers without "USA" in the early days for some reason (before the infamous "not made in the US court case) and just used them up  (they are definitely not the more angular Japanese pliers)

There were some transitional minis that had "US Pat Pend" on one handle and "US PAT 4744272" (no date codes) on the other handle (just to confuse us poor collectors).

There are pictures around of a Japanese Mini, but I don't know of anyone who has ever seen one in the metal.

The cleanskins were often etched with promo brand names etc. on the handles, but Hoffritz seemed to prefer to etch their brand on the knife blade rather than on the handle.  I have a cleanskin and a transitional mini with Hoffritz on the blade.
