Very neat helmet WS, now you just need to paint it blue.  :pok:

Significance of the "UPM" etch on the pliers? Seems an awfully weird location for a company logo.

:like: Having the proper safety equipment is key. And you can't beat a free hat. In fact, that's why I have never bought one--so many companies give them away; it's quite easy to accrue a ton of them. Granddad ended up with 3-4 large quilt bags full of the things.

That reminds me... Last Sunday I found a Spirit for a very friendly price on the flea market. Older model with the Vic logo on the plier head, and apart from the lightest wear marks on the fine toothed part of the jaws it's in immaculate condition. My Spirit X got a companion.  :)

Very nice, and good deal finding it for a good price. :like:

Is it also an X or a different variation? I have a Spirit X with the butter blade, but am not very familiar with other variations with the butter blade.

The nomenclature of the Spirit family is a bit silly to say the least, but - based on the SAKwiki, if I'm reading things right - what you (and I) have is an original Spirit, or (after the name chamge) Spirit XC, thats the butter knife plus scissors variation. I don't have the paperwork for mine, but based on the logo on the pliers and the Victorinox with the large V, I guess mine is an original Spirit, you'll have to check yours, the name depends on its age.

Thanks for the info, Exeter!

I think mine are probably newer, because of no logo on pliers and small V stamping on both. So it would seem the ones I have are likely the X and XC.  :)

2 x 500 Gb memory sticks from the same Chinese site I got my fake Tread off.  I was expecting them to be 500 Mb and find out that was why they were so cheap, but nope, they come up as 499Gb and scan all ok for errors.

I know it wouldn't have been funny, but it would be at-least a little bit funny if the HDDs were some NOS WD Caviar 500MB drives.
Glad they weren't though. :like:
