Legacy of Failure- battered and broken Pioneers
on: March 13, 2014, 02:44:34 PM
For the past year or so, I have hook or by crook, guile or gusto, sticktooitness or just plain luck acquired a nice collection of battered and broken red old cross alox. No simple task, you can't just buy there guys so easily!  I love the sense of history they provide, at some point they failed their owners but they kept on ticking. Aloxi are beasts!

Without further adoo, I present Legacy of Failure:

But really, it could also be called Legacy of Success!

I hope you at least didn't pay much for them. I can't see putting in good money for broken tools. I wonder if you were to send them into Vic if they would send you new silver Pioneers back in return...

No silver ones thank you. Vic is pretty good about repairing classic models, I just have not wanted to take that step yet.  Some kind of Horror Vacui or analysis paralysis :p

Since you mention it, if Vic can indeed repair these, then that would be the best way to go. THEN you would have something... I'm so used to LM sending back replacements that I didn't realize Vic actually put the effort to fix older SAKs.  :D

My first thought:

Man!  There are a lot of people out there who have no idea how to sharpen a knife!
