I know you're a big fella so I can see how it could be a tad small.  I like the choil which is pretty much how I grip the knife.  I feel it helps a lot with how it feels in hand.

I thought the Izula would be a small knife in hand and it is BUT it works.  I get a 3 finger grip with my little finger dangling but its fine.  No lanyard no paracord wrap for me on this knife as I like it as is.

I love carrying a fixed blade and reach mine quite a lot.

I'm also carrying a fixed blade for the Batman challenge, the Wissahickon Critter, and I'm finding it is a lot more comfortable to carry than my initial impression lead me to believe.  I've got it on my belt at the eight o'clock position with the bottom of the sheath going into my pocket.  This keeps it unobtrusive and snag free.  I really, really like this knife.
