Deluxe tinker with metal file instead of scissors possible?

Hello, I want to mod the deluxe tinker and instead of scissors I want to swap them for the metal file off a ranger I have laying around. I would also like to mod a electrician's sheepsfoot blade instead of the small blade into it as well but i'm not entirely sure how to go about doing this.

Of course it's possible.
Here are instructions for basic modding...
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,48516.0.html

The scissors for file is simple enough, but the electricians blade may not be as straight forward
unless the blade comes off of a 91mm SAK, but I know I've seen it done so yeah it is possible. Just not something I've yet tackled.

Someone else will be along to give assistance with that mod for sure...
Hope this helps.

I guess i should elaborate. Would it be as simple as taking the scissors out and replacing it with the metal file? Then taking the small blade with the electricians blade?

As i know different tools use different springs and alox models are longer as well so they too will have different springs.

Basically how would I go about doing this?

He linked it before I could.
That is the "Grail" for us would be modders. Read the grail and everything associated with it.
That's what got a lot of us started.

...and good luck. :tu:

Thanks everyone, I just remembered reading somewhere that I would need to replace the bottle opener with the electricians blade. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

This one got the electrician blade at the place of "classic" small blade,
so perhaps you can keep the bottle opener  ...  :o :D

That's in one of the 93mm Alox frames I believe...Not positive. I'm an off the top of my head type. I'm pretty sure the electricians blade from an 84mm would fit in place of the small blade on a 91mm with some minor modding.

Just wait and someone with more experience will be around.

An Alox 93mm electricians blade is 1.7mm thick. A 84mm electricans blade is 1.5mm I think. Also the krink is wrong I believe on an 93mm electricians blade to go in place of the small blade on a 91mm.
