Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Yeah....let's just say my hobbies and addictions were everything fishing. So from 6th grade through highschool EVERY bit of income that didn't fix my truck went into lures and fishing stuff. Now it goes to MTs...

I must add my house is divided. My father is addicted to salsmurfer fishing. And I'm addicted to freshwater. We both dwell in both, but we each fund or own and share gear.  We also live in Florida....the fishing capitol of the world.

Moar. First up is a limit of Spanish mackerel. Funny thing is, the boat broke down as we were heading out the pass into the Gulf of Mexico. Luckily high tide pushed us back into the bay, where as I diagnosed the issue my best friend was goofing around with a "gotcha" (essentially a spoon lure) and caught one. We couldn't get the boat fixed so we hungout all day and caught these.

Next is a limit of Red Snapper. Back in the day the limit was 5 per person with a minimum length of 16". Now they are limit of 2 per person arena limit of 18" and the season is about 4 weeks. Roughly half what it used to be. Red snapper is the #1 Commercially fished resource around here, they are absolutely incredibly tasty. And they are super fun to catch. The state record is 46 lbs and our biggest so far is 38.

Lastly is a picture of a Freshwater Largemouth Bass. With a Spro Frog partially enhaled. Spro frogs/top water is by far my absolute favorite type of fishing. I love the lure almost as much as I love LM. The only difference is I have 50+ Spro Frogs. And like 6 LM's......

Oh and I have a treat for yall.

Back in 6th (7th?) Grade I caught this bull shark in 30 ft of water.

After fighting it with a Penn 9/0 Senator we realized we couldn't land this thing on the boat. We GOT OUT in 4 feet of water. And walked 40 yards to the beach where we finished dragging it in. Then drug it BACK to the boat with rope.

Here is a pic of the Jaws from the shark in the news article (upper) and a sand shark caught the next year. Note the circle hook in the sand shark jaw. That's how it was caught! 120 lbs fluorocarbon leader! Hook actually went through the cartilage.

Went again today. It's was COLD and windy but we caught 2. My poor coworker though was fishing right in between us and still didn't catch anything. He's 0-5 this year for bass/trip.

I agree! I kinda feel bad for him though. He hasn't caught a Bass on an artificial lure in atleast a year.......and that's not because a lack of effort.....
