Thanks guys! It was a rather fun thing to do.. The mod was rather cheap-ish to do as well, as long as you have spare parts.. Just some things to keep me occupied.

Just another project I had posted in another place. Fixing the self breaking springs on the Squirt PS4. LM warranty doesn't work like how it does in another part of the world and I bought it used and broken. Just doesn't seems right to send it in either even if I could. Anyway, my mods and fixes are sometimes non-conventional... I tend to like to use what I have around. Well, this time round, the springs for the binder clips came to the rescue.. May not look as clean, but works. And doesn't break for no reason..

Here goes.. Picture says a thousand words. That spring is surprisingly easy to shape and stays that way. I had balance pivot pins from juice mods so those came into use here. The hard part is, as you know, peening the pins back on. Just like you did on your juice. I just did a bit of touch up so it matches the rest of the rivets. Have fun!!  Lots of work and patience to get it right. But it is really satisfying.  :salute:

Hello everyone,

My name is Ben and I run a small YouTube channel, txtoolcrib. I have been meaning to join the forum for quite some time, just haven't gotten around to it. I wanted to share a mod that I recently performed on my Leatherman Surge, adding a cable cutter. Let me know what you all think.

Well... unless there's a magical bit that can fit everything or can always get away with "sorry I only have a philips bit" with a big smile everytime..  I guess anyone that have a bit driver will also have a set of bits on hand... At least I do in my work belt.. :pok:  One a serious note, because of the long, thicker and protruding non stock driver in the outer layer, opening of the handles, using of the pliers, all actions will somewhat be interrupted by it if it is not held firmly in place. The original centredrive doesnt have this issue as whatever action is done, there's no chance of pushing the driver out accidentally. I will have to admit, this will work well on the CD/MP platform. Not so much on the butterfly opening style.. But what the hack... As long as I had fun.  :D

Ahh it's on an old-style phillips.  :salute:

Sorry, for some reason I was thinking it would be your only screwdrivers and you would need to carry a bit kit. I didn't think about other drivers on the tool.
Not sure where my brain is at today.

Another big advantage to this mod is a way less chance of palm pinch than a regular Wave when gripping it from this side :woohoo: :like:

This was the XE6 model with the purple colour. There was a dent and scales were scratched. Did some experimenting and this is the result. Sanded the anodised purple off totally and did some staining with acid. Pretty nice marbled effect.

A pleasure guys. Its really a experiment. I had never done etching on aluminum before. Turned out better than expected.  Love to change things up and customise them.  A very "Me" tool now.  :D
