Walnut... For filling the gap. Wanted to make the tool lighter in an aesthetic way.  :)

I really wished the Surge would have come with a premium blade.  Nice work on getting one in.

Has anyone thought of/committed to adding a 1/4-inch driver to your leatherman?

I am not sure if anyone has or not

Using the bit extender or Ratchet Driver in the LM bit driver gives this capability,  so I haven't ever :salute:

It is very possible and some of the Chinese brands do have them in some tools :tu: usually Wave clones, so it might just be that you could buy one of those and very well just be a drop in mod  :salute:

It arrived, and it fits? I believe the model is intended for the Wave/Rebar/charge. The locking mechanism doesn't grip completely, thus the driver slips on occasion. but it works (and looks) great!! :woohoo:

Anyone have a bit exchanger and/or a t shank holder in a Super Tool 300? I'm really thinking about trying the bit exchanger. Doubt the t shank mod would work but I wish it could.

As good of a tool as the Surge is, I'm just old school.

Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig, Yes I swapped in the flat bit adapter into the ST300. Make sure to get one from a Surge. As for the t-shank adapter, you will need one from an ST300EOD. You can get one from a Surge, but that one will require you to fabricate a bushing and will require some grinding. I don’t have access to a lathe, so I went the EOD route with my ST300M.

Bit adapter in my color swap ST300.

Hello Modders,

Does anyone know of any professional leatherman modders (doing it for a living or something) that can help me in removing or replacing
the blades of a wave? I'm dead set on the Wave+, black finish so not really interested in knifeless rebar or
other models. I'm looking for someone (preferably in Europe) who can replicate most of the modifications of this one https://www.reddit.com/r/Leatherman/comments/106t9w8/modified_wave_for_wave_week/, except the bit holder one. I want it done properly so would like to avoid doing it myself. :-)
Thank you.

all the best

All i can say its not gonna be cheap to get all those mods just for scalpel and comb cost around 80€ plus postages and scalpels. Modding itself isnt hard but getting parts for mod is expensive.

yeah, you're right. It's going to be expensive. But willing to pay the price for this one so long as I get to have a wave that I can bring with me in public (of course, not nightclubs, bars , concert places, etc)

Thank you. You know, I can't believe it but somehow I must have had my head in the fog the day I posted this. I helped my son build his first LM, a ST300EOD. We combined it with a ST300M and made a really efficient toolset. It has the handles and t shank of the EOD, the pliers and bit exchanger from the M, and could even be improved a little more now that I think about it.

I'm not sure if I should buy the parts and mod my ST, or start with an EOD and M like we did with him. Decisions, decisions............
