"I scored a BO blunt nose on eBay for $20; this one is the blunt nose without replaceable carbide inserts. I plan to swap it into my EDC 600". Good score, and an even better decision, rdub!
Congrats on a wise choice.  :tu:

I used to go for the pliers with the integrated cutter. Now I am leaning more towards the replacable ones.  :)

The eBay score showed up. The cutters have a pretty severe notch in them. Makes opening and closing the jaws difficult. I'm going to send them to Gerber and let them replace the broken blade and see if they will do anything about the wire cutters. I also have an assisted opening knife that needs repair.

We'll see what happens. I'll see about swapping the heads when I get it back.

Well, I found something quite-surprising-to-me today; as I cleansed my blunt nose (the one from THIS post: https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,52129.msg2052377.html#msg2052377), I found out that Gerber is now stamping the production date inside one of the handles, specifically towards the tools' end at the can opener's side! I find this a good production improvement, as the etched date stamp on my SS NN is slowly fading and is almost gone (even though it is a 2017 model). I'm sure that this will make model dating better in the future. Just wanted to share that tidbit of info. with you all.  :salute:

After my very favorable impression of the original 'Mr. Pinchy' Multi-Plier (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,83656.msg2067917.html#msg2067917), I decided I must get an MP600 to explore this Gerber product a little more, and to get an objective view of the differences.

So I am pleased to add my name to this club, with the acquisition of an MP600 Blunt nose.  :salute:

This model is an early version (circa 1998-2003), as it still carries the Simonds file, has the drop-point PE blade and pre-tungsten carbide cutters. From what I read, the cutters are not popular, so I'm happy to skip this feature. And I'm not a fan of the newer wharncliffe blade. So a few observations...

- It's longer than Mr. Pincy, allowing the Phillips and flat drivers to be a more reasonable length, but still a little short
- Handles no longer symmetrical stampings as one handles fits inside other where they meet at the plier's pivot
- Additional handle length allows increased gripping pressure on pliers
- All tools now lock with a sliding system which is possibly better than Leatherman's rocker-type (less chance of accidental unlock)
- Inside space better utilized with folding tools, adding dedicated small flat, but dropping the flat tip on the can opener
- Blunt nose does not fully retract, about 3mm left exposed. But slide groove could be extended 3mm without pliers snagging on tools
- Handles wider apart to reduce palm pinching, but makes tool larger and creates more obstruction when using the blades
- Plier head bigger and wider, so will be stronger, and wire cutters longer. Crimper added to area behind pliers
- Slide mechanism simplified with circlip retainer replacing button-head screws. Tapping no longer needed in pliers and adjustments-free
- Neater proprietary (?) flat-top button-head screws replace basic nut/screw tool pivot
- Ruler markings extended from 7 to 8cm (inches unchanged)

It's very clear that Gerber made a real effort to improve the design, and in the hand, the original Multi-Plier almost feels like a factory prototype when compared to the MP600. Both are very capable tools that I'm happy to include in my rotation schedule. But while the original has a wonderful 'vintage' character, the MP600 is better. That in continues in production almost unchanged for 20 years is a validation of this excellent design.
