I was able to use the metal file one my Wave to fix the uneven grind on the plier head. All is well, I'll chalk that one up to a fluke.

-AdmSlc

Well done. Now you do not have to return it or wait for a replacement.

Agreed. I'm glad I got this MP600, it has been too long since I've had a proper Gerber.

My first plier based MT was an original Gerber probably 20 years ago. Brings back good memories, except pinching my hand ;)

I had to mod the gerber MP600 to the fullest, I just need a better pocket clip. Just like my new project Gerber Suspension with mods that are pending....

I am very disappointed with this Gerber multitool. As you can see the grind on the plier tip is uneven. There is only one edge on the very corner where it touches. Did I get a bad batch or is the quality control terrible?

-AdmSlc

Prolly seen over 100 MP 600's issued to myself and other Soldiers over the years and I have never seen something like that before.

Hope they get you sorted.

Just noticed I never posted a pic of my MP 600 here. Will try and fix it tomorrow.

My first one is on the way.

Amazon has a clickable $5 coupon on the MP600 Blunt Nose.

Hello to everyone. New to forum. Love the MP600. I've had mines for years and can't live without it. (Image removed from quote.)

Did I just count 7 blades facing outwards.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I did some pliers head reshaping on the 600 blunt nose. My main purpose was to get the fine teeth to the tip of the pliers, but thought id get a little regular pliers shape going on :D also it works surprisingly well with the 'beloved' knurled screw heads :tu:

Very nice pliers modification. Reminds me of a version of the old Mr. Pinchy pliers head.

I am afraid that even if you find an old Mr. Pinchy as a donor, the pivot area on the Mr. Pinchy tools is smaller and I am not sure if they can be adapted to the MP600 chassis.

And: Nice mod!

Thanks to parnass for posting the link and Greg for alerting me via pm.
The Gerber Trailrider finally showed up a few days ago

Well, this has been a long wait - 2-3yrs in searching. I'd practically given up on ever actually getting one. Just goes to show you never know what's coming next.

Now I've seen it in the flesh, I do ask myself why was it so special. The hoof pick is nothing more than a stamped out piece of steel that's then been bead blasted. That's it, there is nothing else on this tool that is unique except for that one single implement. Ofcourse to me, as a collector the value far far outstrips it's actual worth. But my partner upon seeing it just laughed and quipped "fools and their money".

Bless her she's obviously not cultured  ;)

These are pics off the ebay listing.

Hi Tosh.   Glad your new Gerber Trailrider arrived safe and sound.   I'm fairly new to the MP600 series and am surprised at the number of variations made.

I was reading an old discussion thread last night which attempted to list most of them.

Got mine today, a bladeless model. One of my subscribers sent it, and a stainless Spyderco Endura 4. Both brand new. Unbelievable! So far, I really like the MP 600!
