My favorite two layer Wenger custom in carbon fiber. So wish people still would make these. Very hard to find.

Ok, got a question for Wenger Wednesday. Why does the Wenger Swiss Sportsman go for as little as a few dollars on evil bay? Yeah it has a 2d phillips which is not ideal, but otherwise it really has a great toolset. I have to force myself not to buy these every time I see them and give them to family and friends like candy. Here is a pic of one I threw some evo scales on for example.

Ok, I have a question for you guys. Why does the Wenger Swiss Sportsman go for a few dollars at best on evilbay? I realize it has a 2d phillips driver which is not ideal, but otherwise really has a nice tool set in a reasonable 3 layer pocket friendly size. I have to force myself not to buy them like candy to give to family and friends. I attached a pic with evo scales I like for example.

Because of the LL Bean logo?   Mine cost $12. The Swiss Sportsman is my favorite 84mm Wenger. No nail file, and the 2D Phillips has just a bit more reach than the SD on a SAK.

Probably right, I don’t particularly care for advertiser logos either. LL Bean must have requested quite a few from Wenger. I seem to see them all the time on eBay.

58mm frame is a little too small for me.  Lanyard ring being in the same direction so the blade is stupid.  The Minichamp is loaded with tools repurposed from pharmaceutical ad knives made in the eighties that aren't "cuticle pushers" and "orange peelers" but pill counters and band cutters (and might I add, that tool makes an awesome zip tie cutter). The Pocket Toolchest, on the other hand, is loaded with practical tools one will use every day.  The 65mm blade is a bit more substantial, and the frame easier to hold. Lanyard ring is on the other end of the knife.

I would honestly say, I could go to the Pocket Toolchest and for around town, around the house, and travel; all I need. Besides, the blade is legal in all but the most vehemently anti-knife places on the globe.

Had to go to the dentist today (regular checkup) and decided to go ultralight with the Pocket Toolchest.

This is another SwissBuck. These were made for Buck Knife company by Wenger between the years of 1992-98.

This is the Trekker model.Other than the two blades and openers it has a saw.
