I'd prefer my Crunch back.  I hope I didn't mess this up putting that I would accept a replacement.  I meant a new Crunch, not a different multitool, but didn't specify that.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Hopefully they’d get in touch with you before sending a different tool.

It’s not something with an obvious “upgrade” path like sending in an original Supertool and getting a Supertool 300.

Maybe you’ll be the first to get a SuperCrunch.

It’s probably very different there to here in the UK .

No possibility of repairs here, they just swap for th closest thing they’ve got. The company handling repairs for the UK aren’t even the official importer any more, so I guess supplies will get even more limited.

With luck, the US warranty department have full access to a factory full of spares and replacements.

I sent Leatherman a used Crunch today for warranty.   I did state sentimental in the form, but added that if they have to replace it, it is okay.
I hope they can replace the file.  If they replaced it, I wonder what I would get?  :dunno:

Hey Lisa,

That Crunch looks very different from mine
- LM and Crunch are in a single line on mine
- The thumb dimple is more rounded on yours
- The small SD is narrower on mine
- The larger SD is narrower and has a longer bevel on mine
- The Phillips SD body is narrower on mine and it has a more shaped head
- Yours has PAT PEND
- Mine has ® after CRUNCH not TM
And weirdest of all
- What is that black file on yours     :o  ........ Is it really black ?    ???

I assume that yours is a very early model, due to PAT PEND - Mine is 2 or so years old
So I guess that is what 20 years of development does

So the Crunch has changed after all
Maybe we should start a Crunch Chronology thread   ;)

I’m doing the MTO Anniversary challenge this month, and for the first week I’m going to choose my stuff to carry based on the Leatherman forum days of the week threads.

Today is Crunch Time Tuesday.

Thanks. I’m sure it won’t be the last time one of my Crunches makes an appearance during the Anniversary challenge.

I know what you mean, Poncho
Our secretary was worried earlier in the year that we did not have enough work. So she had me bid on a job that was bigger than we normally handle, even though I had some large jobs already lined up. Of course, we land the big job, and the other jobs became ready around the same time. All of which I needed to at least oversee, if not do myself.  Some of the other guys and my boss had to fill in for me.  I had a lot of trouble getting my work done because of all the phone calls requesting advice and guidance

I guess sometimes it's better to have too much work than not enough... :ahhh

Overall, you are right. My business folded in 2015 because few custom homes were being built. I much rather have the stress of too much work than the stress of not enough little work to support my family.
