A classy looking Waiter (even if I do say so myself)

cracks, knots and voids are all "features" of burl, but for some reason they show up much more clearly than the grain in photos.

If there was no back tools blade spring (like Bantam), I would use it too :salute:

That shows the most beautiful grain and features I think I've seen in any wood scale SAK.

WANT!!!!!

That's pretty much exactly what I would make if I could throw together a larger SAK.  Do you have any build photos?  How much $ do you have into it?  I'd love try and replicate it if I could.

My selfmade ebony Spartan now has a Victorinox Shield inlay (sic!).

Thanks to 'ong' for suggesting the scrimshaw technique.

By the way there is no scratch which epoxy mixed with ebony dust cannot handle. ;)

You would love it. The dust of ebony has an incredible, aromatic smell. Working with ebony is a big pleasure to me.

What does a block of 4x10x0.5 cm go for? :D

Nice.  I normally have a strong preference for any kind of metal scales, and never so much into wood and natural materials, but I have to say that ebony looks fantastic.  Good work!  :salute:

Thanks.  :)

I got my ebony block (4x4x15cm) via ebay or amazon for about 20€. Not the cheapest.

However, have a look here

That would be 32€ with shipping. :) I'll try finding some locally. :salute:

Wenger Tool Chest on a diet.  I removed the compass (re-used as a lanyard bead) and fish scaler.

Cool idea adding the compass to the lanyard. I love people thinning tool chests, it actually makes them usuable
