I polished and anodized some Ti scales, and put together a bladeless Fieldmaster. I didn’t like the way the backside Phillips fit into the spring for the scissor layer, so I took it all apart again lol

 :climber:

Great job!  :like:

I’ve wanted to put a pruner blade in a 91mm for a while so when I took apart a 93mm harvester apart for the awl it was the perfect opportunity. Ended up with what is, I guess, a tweaked Outdoorsman. I love a mag layer too. Think I’m going to go with ‘Botanist’ for this one as I subbed in a brass bark lifter for the can opener too ;0)

New black scales on the way but snapped these on for the photo as they look great with the brass tool.

Nice mod, I am a retired carpet and linoleum layer I learned from a old timer i was taught using hook knives. The Vic hook blade works great for free hand and pattern cutting vinyl and linoleum.
I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

I can see that it would be perfect for that. Such as a sharp blade and you there is one in the 100mm gardening knives that is twice the size and seems even more wickedly sharp!

Okay this kinda works for the pencil idea. Hollow brass tube which Accommodates a standard .7mm lead. I have created a recess that allows a silicone tube...the kind used for pole floats (fisherman)...to be slid on to the holder and a lead to slide through. With a small second sleeve over he lead it grips just enough to be usable. :0)

About the best I can manage without nano engineering something although I may have a quick go at an additional brass sleeve to go over the silicon tube and clamp the lead a bit tighter still...

The silicon has the dual benefit of keeping the pencil
securely in the slot.

Not modded a SAK in a long while, someone asked me to make them a bladeless Yeoman, so I put a file in place of the main blade, a combo opener in place of the small blade, corkscrew on as the backtool, a scissors layer with a hook backtool and then a mag glass/in line Phillips layer :salute:

Took a bit of thinking on how to get the file to work in place of the main blade but I think I got it :tu:

The owner is going to add their own scales when they get it back

Also of note, I had to use an older style file as they are thinner, the newer style file is a bit to thick to work (or work well anyways)  :salute:

Great bladeless mod. The files blade is such a versatile tool, great substitute for the main blade.

Hello, i am a long lurker from germany. I did my first mod today, a minimalistic camper. Thought a long time about it and hoped that this will fit all my needs of being ready for every situation. But i am more an office than outdoor guy, so may i have to do another mod.

Victorinox Original Outdoorsman Plus Mod. So I got a Hoffritz Original Outdoorsman with a broken tip main blade cheap. Reshaped it into a sheepsfoot blade, but never really liked it and hated a weak opening layer due to a wimpy spring so I decided to mod it. Took a Victorinox weekender and basically split it and used main fully serrated blade with ground down spacer on one side and opening layer on the other side. Added Phillips and magnifier from previous project and kept the rest original. I really like the old school beefier scissors, file, and saw. Like the final product, great snap and everything fits like a glove.

Thanks, here is another one for you. Made a three layer version of the “TX tool crib mod” this evening. (See YouTube)

What do you guys think I should call it? It is a little different then the one Fit To Survive built or him. I kept the electrician blade and pruning blade in the same layer which required a little grinding, sanding, and polishing on the awl as a back tool. Also went with an old school blade, corkscrew, and hook with file. Came out alright.

What about adapting one of these? They are quite small in all dimensions.
I have used the ballpoint pen version for several years, that's excellent.
