I don't have a smart phone, just an iPod Touch 5th Gen which stays in a Griffin Survivor and rarely comes out.  It's a three-part case, one part being a screen protector.  I've carried it with me everywhere for over a year now, and with the exception of VERY light scratches on the iPod's screen, it still looks like new.  The case is in fair shape except for the screen protector which is pretty scratched up.  I carry it in my RF pocket with the screen facing my leg and therefore the hard case protecting the back.  Dropped it I don't know how many times, as well as tossing it around with no ill effects.  Best part: the case was $13 brand new delivered to my door off eBay :).

New phone, supposed to be tough, was in an Otterbox Defender before we even left the store.

I'm protecting my new Galaxy S5 by not taking it to work (until I get a job where it won't get covered in smurf and knocked around).  I just bought one of these as a work phone...

Dual SIM so I can stick both my personal and work SIMs in the one phone. Easier than carrying two like I am now.
I will report on the quality when it arrives. It's a pre sale item not released until 10th August so probably about a month before I get it.

Just one of those cheap silicon protectors in addition to a screen protector too. I do try and put it in a pocket on its own too :)

Sent via Astropathic choir.

Same here. My phone isn't worth much though.

An old Galaxy S+, which i rarely use - mostly carried all day to be available and for emergency calls. Stuffed in a Otter Commuter box (silicone wrap + plastic shell and screen protector), i modified it to have a additional flipcover over the screen.

To black, to tactical for me, but it´s a good protection. And this combo is still relatively small, most phones today are way to big for carry them all the day in many different situations (at least to my taste).
Have fun.

Bye,
Michael

I use an Otterbox Commuter on my iPhone 5s, it's got the soft silicone inside layer with a hard plastic separate outer shell, that combined with a decent screen protector seems to keep it safe from almost all potential hazards, excluding water damage of course.

I use this ultra thin transparent soft back protector and tempered glass screen protector for my Note 3.

Currently simply an aloksak. I don't need to take it out of the bag to use it, so if I'm out and about I simply leave it in the bag while e.g. reading a message.

My phone is so smart it protects itself.

  Will it sell and buy its own insurance too?!

Beside a case with a simple flap for my Samsung S5, I always keep it with non-pointy object in a front pocket alone, with the screen facing my thigh.

A $3 glass screen protector and a $5 case works well for me. I don't put my phone through WW3 like Grant does so no need to encase it in adamantium.

Same for me.  I spend enough time lying in the dirt, fixing a manure spreader, or moving heavy equipment, that I need as much protection as I can get.

I had an otterbox but it was a 4 week wait for a replacement. So I bought a Trident case.

It's a Note 3.

Getting the post count up again! I use a otterbox armor modified with a belt clip attached to the back.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I have been thinking about swapping my Otterbox Defender for a Life Proof case.  The S5 might be waterproof but the screen protector isn't.   When I work in the rain I get water between the screen protection and the screen and it messes up the ability to use it.

Life Proof is the way to go if you're going to get a large case  The only real problems I've seen with them is the mute switch being a little hard to use and if you're one of those people with very acidic sweat it will only last around two years before it starts falling apart.

Just a dedicated pocket and some careful use.

Well that and blind stupid luck have worked for me so far.
