Today at the London Victorinox shop
on: July 01, 2014, 06:35:40 PM
Ended up going into work very early this morning,so I took the option of heading over to the Victorinox shop when I finished this afternoon.

I had two missions, see if or what Delemonts were available, and to check one or two SAK options for one of our American forumites....

For those interested, here's the London Store Climber

I'm very pleased to report that the service was spot on. The salesman,Pedro, was bang on,pleased to show me Delemonts,Year of the Horse, and Black Ices().

There was a good range of Delemonts, including Evowoods are quite fair prices, there were also the Rangers...-ing massive things they are!

And yes I walked out with......

I was there a while ago and I was impressed by the number of Delémonts they had. I bought one of those London Climbers.

A locking Tinker?

How do the locks work and are they any good? I've never really seen the point myself, I can't see what I'd be doing with a SAK that would need a lock and it makes it a bit tricky with the law...

Very nice Kirk!  Does the flat driver still lock when under pressure on the Delemonts?

Nice looking Delemont. I like the looks of that so much I might even overlook the serrated scissors on the model I'm interested in. :)

Locks pretty good, not sure how much I like the half stop on closing. I don't like my fingers in the road of the blade. Aside from that I agree completely. But sometimes the heart rule the head >:D

Yep,it does indeed!

I should had a look at that when I had the chance. I'm not sure they're serrated anymore

Weird seeing the Vic shield in a distinctly Wenger scale. But it works!

There was another thread doing a direct comparison between an older Wenger and a new Delemont and IIRC there is absolutely no difference in the scissors.

Good looking new knife John.

Here we go Steve:

I just received myself a Victorinox Delémont EvoGrip 14.
There is really very little left to add, after the excellent comparison above by car2oonz.
Since my model has the scissors I will only add something we probably all knew before..., they are the same on both models.
I added, also, a picture to better show the new scales no more "wrapped around the side plates".
The newer scales may seems nicer when looking from inside, but the good thing about the Wenger scales is that you can usually replace them, and you don't need to add any glue... they will just fit the scales.
I'm basically partial on this, but for me there is really very little interest on this Victorinox Delémont.
The only thing I actually like is that the Vic. Del. scales don't show anymore that abomination of the "WENGER" name embossed on them..... :D
Now waiting to receive the model I won on the giveaway, to compare the standard cellidor scales and the blade lock.

Kirk, thanks for the post.  I remembered being there last November, and the sales were very friendly and helpful.  We were just discussing London shop, being one of the flagship store in Europe, should have a tourist SAK for the city.  Just glad to see they indeed was able to make one for the shop.   :tu:
