A couple of years ago we did the Great Multitool.org Bottle Opener Challenge and it was a lot of fun.  This year our friends at Mule Team Canvas have asked us to do it again, and offered members a chance to win a prize by stumping me!

The rules are simple:

1.  Def must open a bottle every day.

2.  Def can not use a bottle opener that has been added to the list.

3.  Members can add bottle openers to the list as often as they like provided that it is one bottle per opener (can't pose a bottle with each opener and expect that to work) and that they update the list.  Bottles don't have to be of the adult beverage variety:D

4.  If Def fails, the member that posted the tool that Def duplicates wins the prize from Mule Team Canvas.  If Def succeeds, then a winner will be chosen at random at the end of the month!

So what's the prize?  That's the really cool part!  You could win a Canvasback Contests Gameboard!  See it at this link:

http://www.muleteamcanvascompany.com/products.html

According to the fine folks at Mule Team Canvas:

Quote
Canvasback Contests is our line of classic era game boards printed on new era canvas. They are easily portable, great fun, and you make the pieces yourself on the hike or camping trip!

Constructed of durable canvas that does not mind being wet or folded the Canvasback Contest line ensures you can always have a little diversion when your on the trail or at camp.  For our premier board, one side is printed with a traditional chess/checkers layout and on the other is a board for playing Hnefatafl a game popular for hundreds of years with people in places such as Finland, Norway, Sweden, England and Ireland.

You can bring your own pieces or make them on the trail from sticks, stones, pirate treasure or whatever.  This gives you a personalized set filled with the memories of past adventures. Rules are included and variant rules are easy to find online.

I have to admit, I have no idea what Hnefatafl is, but I am going to enjoy the Bottle Opener a Day Challenge!  In fact, I'm kicking it off with a bottle of Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer and a Wenger S557!

Please make sure to copy and paste the list as you add to it!

Official List:

Wenger S557

Thanks to our friends at Mule Team Canvas for making this year's Bottle Opener Challenge a lot more interesting than the last one!

So... Does each model of SAK count as one, or are we going to have just one 91mm bottle opener, one 91mm combo tool, one 85mm bottle opener, etc etc?

That depends on how desperate I get towards the end of the month!  :P

I must be  today but I didn't quite get the rules right. So:

Def will open a bottle everyday and post the pic here. OK.

He can't use any tool posted here by a member. If the pic is posted, Def can see the tools and choose another one, right? How can Def fail by duplicating a tool if he can see them?!
 ??? ??? ??? ???

Because Def is pretty incompetent and failed last time!  :P

Also, with well over 5,000 members working against me, there's a good chance of me running out of tools eventually and having to duplicate them.  Either way, someone wins the prize, so the only thing at stake here is my pride.

I'd also like to remind everyone that this year's Bottle Opener Challenge is sponsored by our good friends at Mule Team Canvas Company.  Visit their site and check their stuff out- it's pretty cool stuff, and be sure to LIKE them on Facebook to let them know we appreciate them being a part of the Multitool.org 8th Anniversary Celebration!

No, I just copied and pasted the official list. It could be however. Def is lucky in that I hardly have any canned beverages other than a few sodas in the house. The Bud Lime is the only beer I drink these days, and that was my last one. I have no bottled beverages on the premise either.
