Champion with serrations. Original or fake?
on: August 05, 2014, 11:00:25 PM
Just discovered in the bay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Victorinox-Champion-Bubinga-Wellenschliff-1-5793-tlw-NEU-Schweizer-Taschenmesser-/321476740612

Which version is it? I wasn't aware that the Champion was produced with a serrated large blade. Even with wooden scales. I thought those were only at the SwissChamp.

Maybe a special German version? Or a fake?  ???

Looking at the thing, I'd say it might be a mod..

That's -not- saying it's fake, all made from real Vic parts, the scales are sold as such by Vic (on knives, of course) as well.

Rebuilt by Victorinox customer service.

"Rebuilt by Original Victorinox customer service. That all tools have been cleaned, checked for proper function and possibly replaced with new parts. Unused New parts are: (1) large blade with serrated edge, (2) small blade, (3) handle scales of bubinga hardwood, (4) magnifying glass, (5) tweezers, (6) toothpick. Since it is a used item, small, superficial signs of wear are present. In the photos is for example to see scissors and inline Phillips. These traces do not affect the ability to function."

So it's possible to get the blade changed by Victorinox?
