Need help identifying SAK

My grandfather just gave me a swiss army knife that he has had for years along with his fathers. He gave me both, and I gave my great grandfathers to my dad because it meant much more to him then it did to me, saying he remembered carrying it around in the woods etc and he loved it. But I digress. I kept the other one, which has a name engraved on it that no one knows , and I have no clue what kind it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Quite easy guess there, mate: It's a Victorinox Spartan with the old Economy shield.

Alright next question, how good is the quality of this knife? Everything snaps into place well and practically looks like new, only the cross on the side is wearing off. I know all victorinox products are of great quality, but I don't know if its better, worse, or the same as the SAK's of today

It's flawless, I mean it's Victorinox 
The thing is this is an Economy model and they cut some corners to reduce cost - different material for liners, shield was painted silver instead of using metal inlay etc. These were generally branded Elinox...

Jazzbass would know better, but it was the economy series. The CS were brittle and would break. I think they were from the 60s or 70s?
