I just couldnt stand the purple anymore  :D and remembered seeing a stripped xe6 somewhere  :think: then found powernoodles stripped xe6, well used oven cleaner to remove a lot of the purple and then lots of sanding,i mean lots   :ahhh i think once its tarnished a bit it will look even better,the worst part was around the pins, :tu:

In fact, you forgot to sand the entire tool away  :rofl:

Zed, I am well pleased that I could be a bad influence in your life.  But you tricked me into burying my MP600 for a year, so we are even.   My XE6 is pretty gnarly looking, like something out of Mad Maxx.  I used a Dremel, but a solvent would be better.  I just don't know what that solvent would be.

Wouldn´t it be easier to just match your wardrobe to the tool than the other way round?  :D

Pure lye is what you want.  Hardware stores here sell it for drain cleaner, but its also commonly used in soap making which is how I orginally found a source.  Use 300 grams of lye per litre of warm water (I make a 1/2 litre up at a time).  It would take off that anodize in about 30 seconds.   :tu:

I actually liked the purple, but the Stainless steel look is rather intriguing.  I think it looks nice.
