No not that kind of model. I'm talking model kits. I have never really been into model kits, but find them interesting and fulfilling. Sure I did a few when I was a kid, but never anything serious. I just did a Mini Strandbeest this morning and enjoyed it quite a bit. I just love the mechanics of it and when it walks from wind power its just plain cool. Here it is. If you have any models to show lets see them.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not?  I do not think you are though.

Yes I put it together myself. It comes completely in pieces and you have to assemble the entire thing.  :tu:

Thanks everyone else. Glad you guys like it. I really wan't to get the other model kit Strandbeest, but i'm not buying anything for a while. Maybe in a month or two.

Very cool, Cap'n.  :tu:  When I was younger I used to build lots of models.  My personal favorite was a 1/72 scale B-36.  That thing was MASSIVE!  :ahhh  I also built a nice one of USS New Jersey, my stepbrother the sailor has it in his office now.  :tu:

I haven't built a model in a long time. The only one I have left is this model of the Titanic that I built from June of 98 to August of 99.

If you look closely, you can see both masts are broken. They could not stand the tension on the rigging. At some point I intend to replace them with metal ones. 15 years and I haven't got around to it, so we'll see!

Beautiful model by the way. I don't think I have what it takes to do anything like that.

Built many a model kit when I was younger, most never survived the moving. I think strandbeest kits are awesome...

I have a couple 71 'cuda kits that I never seem to get around to finishing. All my other model kits seem to have been thrown out due to excess damage, and the only completed kit I have atm is a snap together prepainted Slave 1s, seen in the back right and front far left of this picture (the larger far right/front one is not a kit)

Also have a Mystery Machine snap kit I got in London UK I've been meaning to put together, I wanted to paint some of it before assembly...

I had that kit! I painted a Canadian flag motif on it... looked rather elite imho.

I've been thinking about getting a Bluenose II kit. I suppose it's not as satisfying as some of the old galleons etc, but it has more meaning to me.

I forgot to say nice job on the strandbeats capt spaulding!  I think there was a youtube video of Adam Savage building one of those.

Unfortunately, depending how you look at it, I probably won't get back into it anytime soon.  My jewelry hobby takes up any free "craft" time I get.

Chako, that is a cool looking sub! I've not seen one like that before.

I know of 3 models. The first being the one I built when I was a kid back in the 80's, that was a German U Boat 47. They came out with another which I found online and now have in my possession, waiting to be built. That one is a type XXI U boat. The one pictured is the newest of the series, a Polaris Submarine. All of them are from Revell. Unfortunately, the first two are hard to come by as they are now discontinued.

Nice job caption, all my models are posted on this page, I've been busy and haven't gotten around to the next one that's been sitting on my desk, but it's the titanic of the metal earth ones, maybe when the kids go back to school and get off my back for more then 20min in a row! JR

I like model building, mostly i´m into SciFi, Space, and Ships.

At one moment in time i was itching for a not available spaceship, and a friend did hook me up onto scratchbuilding - after that a whole new universe was opened to me.

My last ship, i´m not the guy for Bismark, Hood, or Yamato or the usual suspects - i like the workhorses. And a special sweet spot i do have for the little canadians:

My scratchbuild rced 1/72 WW II Glen-class tug (around 30cm/ 12"), and a barge i´m building for it.

Sorry, not the best pics. Now i have it´s little helper on the bench - the canadian Tanac-class in 1/72, but not much to show yet (not much time for working on it).

And one of my 1/72 StarWars ships - made of one of the resin kits which i had the honor to make the masters for. A little dio of the Z-95 Headhunter (predecessor of the X-Wing)

That brings back memory's, thanks for posting. I built that same kit back in '85 or so. As I recall not an overly hard model to build.
About 8 years ago I took my son to the Air Force museum at Warner Robins Georgia. They had one on display with an extra engine sitting next to it, really put in perspective what it's mission was about.

Blackbirds are pretty damn cool.  :tu:  I've seen an SR-71 on display at Pima Air & Space Museum in Arizona (they also have three B-52's on display!  :o ), and there's an A-12, the single-seat CIA version of the 71, at the USS Intrepid in NYC.
