A glimpse of the Snap-on multi tool
on: August 04, 2014, 04:43:17 PM
I met with some friends at a gun range/bar-b-que joint on Saturday, and one of them had a Snap-on multitool on his belt. I didn't have time to examine it in detail, but give it a once-over. It was part of a 3-piece kit he got from Costco (I believe). I think it was this kit, since he said he got it for the flashlight...

The multitool was basically the 'Suspension' style, very meh, but a good step up from bottom-of-the-barrel. The little folding knife that came with the kit was pretty decent. And reports from the owner are that the flashlight was very good and the MT was pretty handy.

I guess I was just elated to see another multitool 'out in the wild', even a cheapo. :D

I have to ask: does Snap-On actually produce this or just slap their name on it?

I must assume they just slap their name on it. It seemed to be a pretty average generic tool, if built to a slightly better standard than some.

I figured as much. I personally consider that a form of fraud which should be illegal but I see so much of it.

Actually found it. "Two Red Sets." By Chako http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,46149.0.html it is the second set.

I think i have seen these at my local store near. Comes with carbon fibre (lookalike) handles.
