Hi All,

This is probably my favorite thread to check out and I love the pictures some people have posted but I do have a question. What is the best way to find the colorful Alox knives? I have looked all over my city but being in Canada they are as rare as Hen's teeth and trying to find them online generally results in some pretty crazy prices. What are the secrets?

Thanks and keep posted the beautiful pictures!

P.S. Even checking on Ebay I usually only see the Silver Alox with an occasional Red, Black or Blue.

Keep an eye on the "deals and auctions" subforum, often people will post there when they become available.  In fact one has been posted there this very morning.  There are a handful of dealers in the US, Switzerland and Germany who regularly have different coloured aloxes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out Cuttlershoppe and they have some awesome stuff but the shipping to Canada isn't the best, but that is true for a lot of places.

Should I buy some alox, or not? They seem pretty enticing to the eye, and seem to look comfortable to use, but they have a limited tool range and high price. Not to mention I can't buy one around here.

I like the cellidor versions, but I love and carry the alox versions 99% of the time. For the last 20 years.

A few of the newer ones:

Maybe start with something simple like a farmer or pioneer.  You wont get the neat colors but they'll also be less expensive to try.  Maybe a cadet?
