Hello every one.  I used to have a surge with the screwdriver bit.  I broke it and leatherman sent me the new model.  After using it for about 5 months I have come to the conclusion that I do not like this new model.  I have tried to buy the old model on ebay and amazon.  And each time I have had a seller send me the 830160 model that didnt have the screwdriver bit even though it was pictured with the screwdriver bit.  Its driving me crazy.  I am now emailing all the sellers I can to see if I can find the old model with the eyeglass screwdriver bit.  I thought it was 830160 but I was wrong because thats not whats in the pacakge.  If anyone out there has one for sale or can point me somewhere that sells the old model, that would be great.

I've seen this post before.  My gripe ablout the new Surge is more than just about the screwdriver.  I just don't like it.  It does not handle like my old one.

Its not heavy.  I opens and closes terribly, the pliers jam, the other tools just are loose...  and of course I miss that small screwdriver... I just cant be in the field fumbling for that small piece to jam it in the surge...  I really just cannot stand it anymore I miss that old model like crazy..

You could try trading it to someone wanting the newer version.

There are heaps of the Original Surge around this side of the world but our prices are more expensive.

Interesting as most if not all surge owners are happy with the new surge.
I am sure you will find someone here to trade with.

Sounds like there is some wrong with that Surge. It should open and close flawlessly and the pliers should not be jamming. As far as the loose tools, it just needs tighten.
For me, I love the new Surge but, I do miss the small bit driver. I also did not like the new blade. The rest of the Surge are big improvements.

That's us mobile.

Hello friends.  Can anyone out there help me identify the model# of the surge that has the eyeglass screwdriver bit?   Is there a web site that would list the different model numbers and their variations?

Thanks!
