Peace

About a year ago, Vic produced a green & yellow Peace Pioneer. It had various peace symbols on the blade, including the word PEACE w/some letters embedded in PEACE. Can anyone advise me of those letters & what they mean? (I borrowed the picture from Martin's blog site.)

For those interested in trivia, the circle with the inverted verticle line & inverted V represent the semiphore signals for the letters D & N, "Nuclear Disarmament."

In german language "Peace" means "der Frieden" - it´s masculinum so the article "der" is written in front of it.

Since I did not get any satisfactory response re: the letters on the word PEACE on the blade, I went, as the saying goes, to the "horse's mouth." I contacted Victorinox. Their customer service representative said she believed that the letters were "faema," as some of us have suggested, but she was at a loss to its meaning.

Since the knife was especially comissioned by a dealer-distributor, someone must know the significance of the word. And I don't think it was Faema, the Italian coffee machine company, or was it?

If she did know, she didn't say anything, probably a corporate policy of confidentiality.

But it may very well be the coffee machine producer. Remember the old saying that music calms the savage beast. Well, a nice hot cup of coffee has a calming effect on most human beasts.
