Hesco Tool
on: August 21, 2014, 06:31:27 AM
Over the years I've accumulated a few duffle bags full of old military gear, mostly old uniforms that have exceeded their service life, or were replaced with the new age digital print camo. I was digging through them a few days ago, searching for some wet weather gear and I found this...

Ha, I remember this tool! This Hesco branded Super Tool knock off came packed in between individual barriers on pallets of Hesco barriers.

We put up a ton of these barriers up. The base was pretty much leveled when we came in and had to build revetments to protect our ammo. If I remember correctly, I'd say about one out every five pallets or so had one of these tools in it. I believe some of the other pallets had a smaller tool, Micra sized, tossed in between the barriers.

Well the tool itself isn't very refined compared to a real Super Tool but I'm sure it would serve its purpose just fine.

My Hesco tool never saw much action, back then I never went anywhere without my Leatherman Wave. I guess not much has changed in the last decade in regards to that. :salute:

Nice find mate.  Is the sheath as nice as it looks?

A very nice collectable.  Great story!  I also like the sheath.

Thanks gents .

The sheath is pretty decent actually. The leather is as thick as a ST sheath and the tool fits well inside. The stitching looks quite good as well. It's without a doubt better quality than some of Leatherman's more recent leather sheaths.

It's definitely the odd ball in my collection, but a great addition indeed

Both of those tools look to be of decent quality.

I bet they last longer than both of us.LOL

Looks a lot like the Husky Micra knockoff.

I have one smaller ones. Mine is called Valeo. Unfortinentally mine is not so good. If you give it too much force to pliers, handles give in, and collapse. @Lynn LeFey you can have mine if you wish so.

While I appreciate it, I don't want to burden you with the cost of shipping internationally. Much appreciated, though. :salute:
