Is it easy to ding up the awl on a Wenger SI?
on: August 21, 2014, 07:34:29 PM

Last weekend, I used the awl on my Wenger SI to open a bag of gravel for the yard and upon further inspection, it looks like I dinged up the awl. Has anyone else out there done this? Is it prone to dinging up?
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I don't think so. I've carried a Wenger si off and on since 1998 with 0 issue's.

If you hit a few rocks while cutting the bag open, anything with an edge would be dinged up a bit. Luckily the awl is easy to sharpen, just follow the angle it already has and a few passes on a sharpening stone should repair that.

Do you have a pic of the damage?
