SAK Tools Pairing
on: August 23, 2014, 04:05:17 PM
I've just disassembled a few SAKs and now I have a pile of tools, liners and springs thinking what to do.
Is there a pairing guide already posted here? Like in each layer, what tool can be paired with what.

For example, in the mod I'm thinking of, I might not need a full 91mm blade, I just need a small blade.

What other tools can be paired with the small blade in the same layer? etc... thanks!

You can find most of that info here: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,9808.0.html
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Huh, well they're are different generations of tools and springs. Modern tang blade (small tang) versus older.(larger) Different tangs on the parcel hook, as well as scissors with back tool and with out. Plus liners with scalloped cuts in them, etc etc etc...

Make sure to not mix things up.

As far as what can be swapped for what, it all depends on how much work you want to put into it. Their is no definitive list. With power tools and a little ingenuity almost anything can work. I've been surprised by how much can be swapped around.

Out right the only thing I know can be swapped around are the metal file and saw. But even then it depends on what generation they are.

I can post my mod thread with so much info it's ridiculous, but I'm not sure it'll give you what your looking for. If you want it let me know.
Lots of modding info but weather it's relevant you'd have to tell me.

Good luck regardless.
