Few more kms covered and found more than I can deal with.
I'll be giving the local council a call and hopefully they will help.
I took a few of the worst looking ones and moved them to a stream.

This beast was approx two and a half feet long, the kids called him T-Rex.

Another great deed, that's kind of you and priceless to share with kids.  :tu:

I'll be moving him to a larger pond later on today.

I hadn't been there a few months so it was sad to find the creek had run dry.

In the few kms I walked this was the only fish I found still alive.
The water hole was approx 15' x 5' x 2' at the most and drying up fast.

I went back today with the kids.
I was able to pick it up and transfer it into a 50L fish bin.
Measuring over 25"/63cms it only just fitted in.

As quickly as possible I carried the heavy bin to the car.
We carefully drove 20kms to a large stream fed pond located on private property.

Needing no encouragement it went off and out of sight.
I was putting the bin and towel back in the car when I heard the kids laughing.
It was feeding off the surface right in front of them.
So very cool to watch.

Remember this fish?

Corwyn of Multitool, the First of His name, King of Victorinox, King of Leatherman, Gerber and the First Generation SOG, Lord of the Seven Wrenches, Protector of the Forum, Khal of the Bushes, called Corwyn Toolborn, the Unsharpened, Father of SAKs.

For three long months nobody saw it.
I thought it must have died or moved on.
The creek stopped running and the pond began to dry up, no thanks to the farmers using the water for their stock.
Then last night I got a phone call from the pond owner, the fish had been sighted.
So today I went down and moved the fish to a nearby stream that runs into a larger river.
I had already let it go before the kids turned up with a camera.
They were pretty upset about missing the fun so I jumped back in and lifted it up for a quick pic.
It is in much better condition than last time and much stronger too.
If it had struggled I wouldn't have been able to hold on without hurting it.
We said our goodbyes as it swam off down the stream.

:tu:  zoidberg, great job for keeping an eye out for that fish, while most might have forgotten after the initial rescue.  I sure the fish has more than 3 seconds of memory, and hopefully he will learn that not all humans are home wreckers.

I love fishing, but only if it's fair game.
It has access to a large river now so it better put some miles between us.
