SAK Deconstructed: Victorinox Explorer (Pre-2004)
« on: August 31, 2014, 12:07:10 PM »
I've started documenting each layer of any SAK that I'll be dismantling for the first time.  I've started with the Victorinox Explorer with the old style 8x Mag.  Each photo represents each layer including the each liner level.  I hope you'll find this useful or interesting.

I started with the layer nearest the corkscrew layer.

A victorinox explorer dismantling was one of the first modding activities I ever did. I did the same thing with photos, very useful.

I have a older Explorer that is frozen...I may try to harvest the tools off it to use on a future mod I'm think about. Thanks again for the guide!

Thanks for those photos! It has really helped me understand how the springs work and how it all fits together.
What a great design.

Try PB Blaster on the pivots, leave to soak overnight or longer, then work the blades free. Works every time for me, even with knives I thought were beyond redemption.
