As I've always had iPods, I always use iTunes to organise my music. What software do you use with that Def?

I know you didn't ask me, but I'm gonna give my $.02 anyway...  :D

I use WinAmp with everything, mp3 players included.  I'm sure this one will be no different.

Winamp remote is especially kick-ass.

Actually, iTunes is one of the many reasons that I don't use iPods.  I hate proprietary software.

Def, have you looked into putting Rockbox firmware on your Sansa?  It will give you many more options than stock.

To be honest I'm normally the same, but in the case of iTunes, it really couldn't be better suited to my needs so I do. I will admit that all I do is listen to music, I don't do anything fancy at all.

I drag and drop music onto it- soooo much easier than using any proprietary software.

I haven't bothered to do anything to the firmware on it- it works well enough, and to be honest, I don't use it enough to really get fancy with it.

I use my phone (Samsung j750), it's ok and does the job in a pinch, altho I'm stuck with the default headphones as it uses a really wierd jack. Its a microSD card for memory so it's drag and drop as well. I had some cheap 1gb/512mb usb stick players in the past, also do the job.

Besides that we have a Sony HiMD player/recorder which is pretty useful for recording interviews and the likes. Plus being able to slap in a new minidisc sure makes it easier to archive.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

I'm the same.  iTunes does everything I want it to and simply as well.
I'm back!!

I'm sure iTunes is a great program and all, I just hate the damned thing.  It keeps installing on my computer.  I want QuickTime, but iTunes keeps installing with it.  When I uninstall iTunes, QuickTime works fine, but within a day or two it's telling me QuickTime needs to be updated, then installs iTunes again.

I don't care how good a program is, I bloody well hate to be forced to do anything.

Amen!  That's what I use.

As an alternative, you can install Quicktime and get rid of the "qttask.exe" program that it installs.  Then you won't be bothered with update notifications.

I imported one of these from the states a few months ago, fantastic little thing!!  (black 80gig Zune 2 from microsoft)

The amount of mates i know who have had ipods which have failed mean im never getting one of them, and the screen size, video sync and capacity sold me, plus it looks fantastic.

I forgot to mention my impressions of the Sansa e260 I bought....

I really like it!  The size is great and the battery life is very good.  The audio quality is very good and the video is great for small clips that I've taken here and there.  I certainly could not have found anything better for the price.

I suppose the only drawback I see with it is the proprietary USB cord that it requires.  If that is lost or broken, the unit is completely useless.

The Zunes look nice, but I have my eye on the Sansa View and Fuze next.  I'm thinking a 8GB Fuze with a 16GB microSD card would be a pretty sweet setup.
