To be fair,the socket looks like a good idea

Based on that design, I would say probably of better quality than most in this section.

I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of the S&W MTs are labelled "First Production Run", as I've seen quite a few with that on them.  Maybe they all are ?  Not bad for a cheapie though.
