My RC-M4, all were upgraded. One with Q5 programable drop-in module and the other two with multi modes R2 drop-in module. All are powered by 18650.

Will 18650 fit in the body tube of this light, Gene?

I guess the original bulb is incan. Can be easily upgraded with a Q5 or R2 P60 drop-in-module.

That's very nice!

Did you do the machining on it?

...I do wish there was a step by step for building these LED lights... :-\

I'd like to try it some time, but I know there's some circuitry knowledge in there somewhere...

I was loaned a Thrunite catapult on a pass around a while ago. I found it far too bright to light the room. Then I had an idea...

And this is what happened when I placed it under my wifes hand when of full power...

I have been amused by lighting up my hand with a light since I was a kid... never fails!  :D

I'm waiting on my batteries to take some beamshots of my new RC-A4 X from shiningbeam and I also have an Ultraforce L2 from DX on the way. Claims to be 320lm but I suspect it's destined for a decent drop-in ;)

I'm told you can also do a good Rudolph TRNR impression with a couple of ITP A3s placed appropriately

edaple17 - you must have a massive amount of lights by now, where do you keep them all? Any chance of a group pic of all your lights?

Energie - Your home made lights are fantastic, the detail is great, having started life as a toolmaker I miss using a lathe and mill.

Very cool  8)

I keep looking around the car boot sales to find something antiquated to mod but I've not come across anything that I'd want to hang on to as yet.  I'm in no hurry :)

All of my old lights (I have a few) have come from eBay.

The condordia above is a really simple mod, the reflector has a screw in pill which hold the Cree led and the driver. It's almost a direct swap for the std parts, I just had to have a little bit turned off the reflector to make it fit.

Drop me a PM if you want some more details of where to get the parts.

You'd be shocked if I told you the deals I've found on eBay for torches. I've picked up one of those Concodia lights for less than a fiver inc postage once. I've also picked up a Orb Fliklite for £1 in it's tin and everything! The guy didn't know what it was. It was about the first ever torch made by Lummi/Orb/Rob. It's a keeper, although they do sell for a fair amount on CPF.
