There are very mixed opinions on the keyring here amongst the Knights - It seems to be a love or hate relationship
Plenty of Knights file them off some of their SAKs   :o   - Others swear by them!!

However for the Bantam it would be hard for there to be a keyring
Keyrings are either attached to a liner or to a free end of a spring (eg curent 91mms) -
The Bantam has neither !!   :o

However looks like you have come up with a great alternative    :pok:    :tu:    :)

However, one question about the keyring - Mrs. Z1913 is in possession of celidor Bantam, which has keyring. Is there a difference in the construction between the alox and celidor Bantam? It seems to me that theoretically the alox version could have a keyring as well.

Aha - Interesting

I only have an alox Bantam - So cannot check
However for sure the Cellidor Bantam will have aluminium liners in under the plastic scales - So the kering will be on that 'layer' - ie built into the liner

The only possibility for the Alox would be to build it into the little blade rest/spacer - I guess that could be possible.
 
Oh Wow - I just looked at my Cadet - And that is where the keyring is - So I take back what I said earlier - It is possible!
So lack of keyring must be a design decision - Maybe to keep it minimalist?     :think:

Where do you see the potential  issues with small key ring on larger knives?
I have a Waiter and always had the feeling something was not right with it (while always appreciating it’s ultra usefulness). Then I realised it was the large key ring - I replaced it with the small one and suddenly everything was good.
I did not notice any issues with the smaller one - like getting stuck, not moving freely… so I wonder where do you the user unfriendliness.

That was a theory I posited as to why the Alox Bantam lacks a key ring attachment. I've not personally tried a small key ring on a larger SAK. Some of my larger SAKs could use new key rings, and I only expect those key rings to hold a piece of paracord, so I may try the smaller ones and see how that goes.

Now that really is a great photo
Of course it is a classic, classic model - especially for tool density and convenience - And you are showing all those tools splayed.
But putting the Ranger SAKWiki screen in the background is pure genius!   :pok:    :)

My thanks to you, Sir Huntsman, for 'tis my most favour'ed of companions as I wander yon ways of the woodland. Indeed, as much can be seen from the scars borne along its length.
Strange to observe, is it not, how diminutive the thing doth appear in mine hands, yet when thusly splayed within the presentments of our canny merchants, in contrary fashion it doth appear far greater...

And yea, the range of contrivances within such an encasement as this, of near equal breadth and depth, is true delight and of great enablement to one such as the titular Ranger himself!
But for shame, as 'twas my mind to render a presentment of far subtler background, so I fear my learning of the Samsung Galaxy discipline is yet far from mastery!

I’m currently adventuring in Africa, but I live in the US.

Merit Badges Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Alox SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a thread with a photo of at least ten OPT's in your collection Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of  a Case knife  for 30 days Start a new thread with photos of your carabiners in use Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo  of 84 and 85 mm Swiss Army Knives (and Wengers) for 30 days Participate and post a pic of your vintage SAK (1986 or earlier) everyday for 30 days. Start a thread with photos of at least eight different colored ALOX models in your collection Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread with a photo of a modded knife or multitool with your EDC Start a new thread and post a photo of a Camper SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Must start a thread showing a photo of at least three BO tools Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a photo of an Executive or Director for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a MiniChamp SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Buck 112 Ranger for thirty (30) consecutive days. Must update or add a page on SAKWiki Start a new thread with photos of your Buck knives in use Start a new thread and post a photo of a flashlight as part of your EDC

Hello peeps !

After a long time lurking on this wonderful community that's yours, I finally decided to join !  :ahhh
And what a better place to start, than here, to show everybody my dedication to the Swiss Army Knights !  :cheers:

So, I, Lemonizer, being of an acceptable (depending on the point of view) sound mind and body (also depending on the point of view), hereby entreat the powers that be to consider me for membership in good standing in the Swiss Army Knights and promise to place no knife before my trusty Swiss Army till rust do us part.

Amen !  :drink:

I'm looking forward to a lot of fun with you peeps, I'll keep on writing my story with SAK's here and there.  :popcorn:
