My first SAK was/is an old black scaled Vic Champion. Carried it in  a belt pouch for many years when hiking, backpacking, camping and other outdoorsy stuff. Still have it; now along with about 50-60 other various SAKs. Won't leave home without my Tinker! (Poor old thing is so beat up, scratch, scarred, etc., that I need a new one, but somehow it wouldn't be the same.

I still have mine, it was my first knife. My dad gave it to me almost exactly 24 years ago on my 6th birthday.  It is a Classic SD that came with blue scales.  Those scales are long gone, but I replaced them with ruby scales and a new toothpick/tweezer combo a few years back.

Yes, still have my first. Was a gift from an uncle that visited Switzerland. Made a great 12th birthday present.

I think I will give it to my son when he turns 12. Hopefully he'll have the same reaction I did  :climber:

I still have it. It's a Vic Huntsman. Sits in the kitchen "junk drawer" and we still use it.

Well technically I never bought a SAK but I do have at least one although I have no idea where it is.

So I don't know if that answers your question but that is my very questionable contribution to this interesting thread.

Welcome TiredYeti, and thanks for bumping this old thread. This topic comes up a few times per year, but I see now that I didn't answer in this thread. (yet)

I still have my first, it is a Victorinox EcoLine Recruit.

My grandma and grandpa had been going to Europe every year for 10-12 years starting in the 70s.

Some time in the mid-80s, they decided it would be their last trip. My grandpa bought one of these  for each of his 6 grandsons on that trip.

My brother lost his within a year. I really treasured mine, and having started with really cheap Imperial knives, I felt like it was too nice to use. I kept in the box and only took it out for "special occasions." (like whittling a new spear or sword)

I remember that my grandpa had a hedge along the alley of his house that he felt was always getting out of control, he asked my brother and I to take care of it. So we got some long branches, sharpened the edges with our pocket knives, and I even tried to heat-temper mine to make it harder!

Here are some pix:

Nothing has changed. It lives in a Rubbermaid tote in my basement and only comes out for special occasions. Some day, when my son is responsible maybe I'll gift it to him. Or maybe it'll be an every other generation thing and will go to my grandson...

Bought my first SAK, Swiss Champ as a kid in the early 80s. Later passed it on to my son who still has it, all beat up by now, after 30 years and two generations of adolescent abuse.

I do.  I actually gifted my first Tinker to a friend a number of years ago when his fake one died trying to open a bottle.  After a while, even though I bought another one, I missed that knife, it's an old friend.  So, I traded him, Tinker for Tinker.  :)  That knife still sees plenty of use.  It's on its second set of scales after a 30ft drop onto concrete a while back......

I didn't buy any of these myself, but I still have the Wenger Toolchest, Vic Classic and Leatherman Micra my family bought for me around 2000.  My knockoff Chinese Army Knife exploded sometime around 2004 I think.   >:(

I was gifted a Mechanic many years ago, it is still somewhere in my house (hopefully), I just don't know exactly where. ???

Craftsman is the first SAK I actually paid for, it is in my wife's car.

Yes, a Farmer purchased by my foster mother in 1976 for helping her clearing brush around the property.  As you can see it is in good shape.

Yup, my 111mm Adventurer,  safely retired in a Rubbermaid sandwich box, along with a few other mementos. It was my only SAK for several years, til a girlfriend gave me an Alox Soldier for Christmas one year.

a CyberTool 41 I bought from Amazon in 2006 for $63.00

If I can help, let me know

Can I cheat and show my oldest knife since I never bothered with SAKS until recently? Got this in 1983 when my father sent me on a two month journey the YMCA was doing from Florida to Newfoundland, Canada in tents.

Bought it in some little town in Canada I can't remember the name of.

How I have not lost this tiny little thing over the years is a miracle.

Yes, I do!  In fact, it's the one I'm carrying right now!

My first 91mm model was the Fieldmaster, bought new in 2006, when my grandfather and I went to a local knife shop and picked it out.  A friend of mine had an Explorer Plus, which I blame for probably buying an SAK in the first place.   I'm beginning to like the in-line Phillips more, and as a result, just bought a used non-Plus one on Ebay.   I'll just put the eyeglass screwdriver that come with my pack of toothpicks in the corkscrew, which I only use in conjunction with a cotton ball for cleaning.

I now have plenty, in fact, I think I'm beginning to lose count! I recently tried the pliers-based Leathermans, but getting to the tools can be a pain, so I still carry one of my two main SAKs, the Fieldmaster and the Craftsman (which is sidelined due to a broken pliers spring and a missing toothpick),
