Q about "evo" scales
on: December 08, 2014, 06:11:12 PM
I'm looking at the Vic Evo 16 (has all the tools I want), but I really dislike the feel of the "evo" scales. Can you file down the middle ridge of the scale or is it too hollow? Would also like to "roughen-up" the scales with sand paper.

You could go with a classic 16 which has standard flat scales or the red evo scales with the rubber grip inlays.

I would love a classic 16, unfortunately they are no longer made (that I know of or can find). I believe that Vic has put "evo" grips on all of the former Wenger models. Please direct me to a US online dealer who has them if possible. I've been looking for a set of flat Wenger scales for a Wenger S111 that I got about a year ago - no luck. Don't really care about the blade lock, just thought it might be interesting. So far it just sits in a box unused.  I just don't like the feel of the "evo" scales. Thanks

eBay..... Buy a knife with flat scales and swap them out, I think ( not real sure, it's been awhile ) you have to get the scales that have Wenger printed on the edge to fit. ? Can someone help me out here !
