But, let me get this straight, it's BO and still very shiny and polished?Uhm, yes!But if I recall my google search when I just got it, the oxide process is not the same style as with other manufacturers like for ex. Leatherman.I think Vic used/uses a darkening process by dropping drips of some sort of oil on heated metal parts, giving the burnished effect.Result: very oily when new, some black stuff can be rubbed of, shiny look but less durable coating.Don't see this as the truth though! As this isn't confirmed by the more knowledged peeps here yet.

The big thing about BO is protection and grip. Or is it still grippy? As in if it is wet or oily. Does that make sense? Or is it just to make it black to look good? Because it does look sharp.
Here's the old thread where italophil explained the burnished vs. black oxide process: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,69116.msg1383865.html#msg1383865I personally find the burnished tools more grippy than the normal satin finish. I can't speak to durability as I've yet to really use mine.
I predict that ...2) reissue an old model with a new name, pretending it's the best thing since sliced bread
