I just checked, and the only option I have is to uninstall it.  I might see if I can find a  torrent of an older version for it.

Not on android. The only apps you can downgrade I believe are the ones that come on the phone. And even If you did downgrade, Google Play would be sure that every hour you know you have updates available.

I stopped using it after the "upgrade", and I did let them know in review that there are forums that are pissed by their screwing and and stopped tapatalk support altogether (really, not made up).

This is what I hate about google play. You can't downgrade any app even if the new one is incompatible with your device. You can't even install stuff you paid for earlier if the dev doesn't specify your new device is compatible.

well, in theory you can if you have the APK of the older version... also you can configure apps to not update.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

You can downgrade it easily. I did or I wouldn't be on it!
Make sure you don't sync your iPhone first or your screwed (maybe).
Then get your pics off the phone (auto thing)
Make sure you have a copy of the new stuff you want to keep.
Restore your iPhone to a previous restore point.
Turn off iTunes Store and Internet connection.
Sync iPhone with iTunes
Turn everything else back on again. You should see the app icon update notification again. After that do not update the app and then sync to iTunes once more. As long as you don't update the apps from iTunes you will be fine. If you do that then there is no going back. This does work as I have done it.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I was getting used to the last version, and actually started to like it.  Then they went and screwed it up big time with the stupid holiday version or somethin like that.  If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!

I would just like to add. That as the forum is blowing up, so does my hatred for the update. It's so much harder to keep up with everything.

Does anyone else have this problem with TapaTalk and iPad?

When I minimize the app to do something else, and then open it back up, it freezes then kicks me out to the home page.  It's so freaking annoying when I'm interested in a thread that I have to spend the next 5 minutes crawling back to where I left off....arghhhhh

I noticed my iPad had another new update last night. And it seems better than the last one. No problems loading it either.

It appears to be an issue with my iPad2.  I'm hanging on to 4 year old computer hardware and am annoyed with Apple because it's getting flaky trying to run the most current OS and apps.... LOL.  Talk about spoiled.
I've had Android and Blackberry models for work..... No thanks.  Nothing is perfect, but as far as mobile devices go the stability and features of Apple still outpace the pack by a long shot.

I am having a hard time using the new update, I don't know why but it seems tapatalk is bent on keeping all my participated threads called up even if I've read the replies, and it doesn't show that I have read anything.  I hate tapatalk, I should just uninstall it and be done.

As far as Apple, I'm afraid I'll have to disagree.  I've had 3 Iphones and countless androids, and I must say my current phone, a Samsung GS5, is by far the best phone I've had.  My last iphone was a 5S and it doesn't compare in any performance category, at least for my purposes.  Battery life is slightly better on the iphone, but I'll take the hit for a larger screen.
