Is this a Wenger Monarch ?

Wrongly described on eBay as a Vic Explorer:

But is it a Wenger Monarch ?
I didn't know they came with Locking Blade .

Hi Shalom,

Believe its a Regal (#16835), which is a locking version of the Monarch. A black version was sold as the Valiant.

They're a fairly rare knife.

It looks like a Monarch.Although he didn't extend the wood saw I can see it located between the scissors and the metal file.

I had to pull my Monarch out to see if it had a locking blade and it doesn't have that, although my Nomad does.

In the Dynasty Series it's named Lancelot , has a Locking Blade and has very decorative scales.
Does the Valiant have Black  cellidor scales with just the Wenger Cross ?
Are there pictures of the Valiant or Regal perhaps on Sakwiki ?

I believe all the Dynasty series have black scales.

Most of the Dynasties have black metal scales with an ornate crest. Some of them, including one version of the Lancelot, have a more ornate design (top photo/Lancelots on the right/King Arthurs on the left).

The small Merlin (Esquire) has plastic scales.

The Valiant (#16837) has black plastic scales, with the standard Wenger cross.

Another version of the Regal is the Canoe. That's a unofficial name, based on the handle design. The actual name may be different. (second photo)

Both the Regal and Valiant are shown in the Wenger 1990 US catalog, which is in the wiki.
