I honestly don't think is that terrible...

...If it wasn't a 200$$ smurfing bracelet!!!

The price tag is just wrong for me, imagine what the watch version will cost!!! If it was cheaper I'd probably buy one or two (or eight).

At least the watch version tells the time so is useful for something.
And the bracelet does look kinda industrial cool, (on the watch, not stand alone) but I think it would be next to useless as a tool.

and that price!  I don't know whether to  :ahhh or

Looking at the separate links, I will have to say, there is more flat head driver representation on this tool than the original Wave, and that is saying something.

I wonder if you will be able to buy additional links with added functionality, such as Robertsons, HEX or Torx, etc. I also noted that you get reduced functionality with the watch...considering the amount of flat drivers, that is probably a good thing.

Also of interest, we were allowed a sneak peak a while back, and this got bad reviews from most. I was charitable and was curious to see it come to light, which it has. I didn't add my feedback because it was an obvious attempt to get polling. So for those who think we can influence products etc, guess again. we are a vocal minority. Leatherman let us look at it, got their free feedback, and ignored the majority. Lesson learned on that one. :D

I think the bracelet idea is the most ridiculous idea I've ever seen. I'm guessing that this is marketed as nothing more than leatherman jewellery. The watch was bad enough ( LMs version of steampunk!!) but at least it did have a function.

I'm trying to think of ANY situation where the bracelet could even remotely be classed as useful

Is this what we can all expect from here on? Silly gadgets sold under a once respected brand name?

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Why flathead screws holding it together instead of the ubiquitous torx?

i assume because it is customisable so flathead is easier to undo then torx ?

i think i'll stick with the paracord bracelet my daughter made me.

Flathead is the worst fastening system on this planet. Poor choice indeed.

Well, some people seem to like the idea, there is even a Kickstarter campaign...

And its almost completely funded: 350$ of 15'000$

And what about those of us with thin wrists.  So we remove 2 or 3 links to make it fit snug and lose half the tools.

OK, It looks pretty sharp with the watch. Maybe just me, but I like it. I doubt it is very functional, but it looks good as a wrist band for a watch. Just not $200 sharp.

Leatherman fans will not be able to whinge about Gerbers having stubby drivers ever again  :D

Aside from the artery opening strap cutter and sim card pick (hilarious!), and the clothes ripping/snag creating problems, I think it looks bloody ugly too  It's not just the wearer who has to be careful with this either, but anyone/anything they might happen to brush past. I can see people getting kneecapped and brained by livid boyfriends and husbands who'se partner has just had their nice clothes torn by some buffoon who was stupid enough to buy one and wear one within 15ft or nother human being. Obviously it's not just clothes, skin, arm hair  :ahhh, but towels, curtains .... and if course if you get snagged on another person or static object, the darn thing i going to bite in deeper to your wrist not to mention stop you trying to get out of somewhere in an emergency.

I'm off to call 50ft-trad,and wake him....this thread needs his level of scorn >:D

Al will have a heart attack when he sees that contraption...so probably best let him be  8)
I will bust a gut if Al loves it.

I think it's ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

Never before has Leatherman done anything so hilarious. Never before has Leatherman done anything with so much potential for culling the world's idiots though laceration, entanglement, and revenge kickings. Although having said that, I'm not sure trying to get publicity for a whole heap of Darwin Awards is the shrewdest move ever.

My main concern is that these idiots may get withing entanglement/injury range of people who are not stupid enough to spend money on these and wear them, and those people should therefore be protected from idiots wearing such devices, so it's only the total smurfwits who are put at risk. Maybe wearers should be confined to areas of like minded buffoons, and kept in close proximity in heavily upholstered containment suites ... and even if they don't achieve the high eschelons of the Darwin Awards they could be fined/sued into oblivion for upholstry and kept off the streets for not being able to pay the financial penalties.

The possibilities of numpty control in the world, just went up a couple of notches  :tu:

Hmm I won't be buying this for that price.. 150.00 to 200.00 that's just silly. I hope street price will be significantly less and even then I don't see many folks leaving there real multi tools at home.

You can insist that something is airplane friendly all you want, but if the TSA officer who's screening you doesn't like it, they can take it regardless.  I don't think I'd risk $150 taking this through airport security.
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

For me, it will depend on how NICE the watch is.  If it's basically a Swatch, probably skip it.  If it's a nice watch, I am strangely drawn to that. :o

C'mon,

Who actually pays full MSRP for anything?  likely it'll go regularly for $80-100, which is still high, but if it has a nice watch, I would go the $150-200 for that.

Great to try something new, but I cant see this being popular.

Aren't all multitools wearable?  I wear mine in my pocket.
