I have used and abused many Motorola radios over the years, but not that particular one.  I have always been a fan of the brand, and Motorolas have always lasted longer for me than any other.

I once saw an HT1000 dropped off an overpass, then run over by a dump truck and it still functioned afterwards, but then the HT1000 was famous for taking a beating.

I love Motorola products myself, my question is if I purchase one new in the box ( UHF ) and I only use channels 1,2, 3 do I need to program it ? My  shop all use the same ones. I am getting conflicting answers
