Corwyn's collection sees sunlight
on: April 04, 2015, 04:01:16 PM
I always liked Swiss Army Knives and always wanted a real one...
Two years ago, on my birthday I received a Tinker and was amazed by its looks, quality and ergonomics.

A few months later I joined a forum-full of crazies and one sak soon turned to 50...
Unfortunately these just rotted in a drawer so I got a Detolf, put it on few extra shelves et voila.

Disclaimer: About another 10 more tools are on their way as we speak so I'll update this...

Detolf on table... hey no other place in the house:

Top shelf - Army-issue gurkha kukri:

Second shelf - NIB Victorinox truck, Carl Damascus Explorer 2013 and 2013 MTO coin

Third shelf - folders - not that impressive now, but some Spydercos are incoming:

Fourth shelf - traditional folders: opinels, navaja-style, Laguiole-style, Sollingen, Sheffield, Surmene. Some nice additions to this on their way

Fifth shelf - Wengers:

Sixth shelf - big and small Victorinoxes:

Seventh shelf - medium sized Victorinoxes:

Bottom shelf - multitools and flashlights:

Nice collection with a wide variety of stuff.   :tu:

In addition to Spyderco, you might check out Benchmade.

In traditional folders I'm partial to Stockmen and Copperheads.

This forum is always ready to help you spend your money.  :D

I should get one of those Detolf cabinets too. Are the extra shelves from IKEA?
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Nope. From IKEA it only comes with 4 shelves.
I got some wire clips from a local DIY store (paid about 7 USD for 16 pieces) and got some glass cut to size and the edges deburred at a local shop - just ask around for someone who makes aquariums (paid another 7 USD for 4 glass sheets).
Here's some good tutorials:

Yap was thinking about that, but now it's a tad too hard to do as everything is tricky to reach. I''ll do something like that when I move in the new house and place the Detolf on the ground.

Missing a OHT in your collection.
:twak: I need to save for my baby fund... She'll be here in 3 months... I'll dress her up in napkins and give her an OHT to suckle on  :P

That it is...

Benchmades look nice, but here you can only find fakes at decent prices. I was eyeing a Kershaw Scallion in the future. The Benchmade Griptillian seems really nice too...

I won a Stockman in a GAW on Bladeforums in December... unfortunately it still hasn't reached me  :-\
