Well, I tried! I even played the two rod game leaving one casted with live worms on it while playing with various lures on the other. Not a single bite:/ Though this pond is stocked with Trout and I only had bass gear in my truck, so I think I was fighting a losing battle. Nice nonetheless. Sat and fished with the Red Sox opening day broadcast on the radio with a hot dog and a mountain dew, then hit the antique shop across the street.

Dug out a largish gum tree* stump.  It had borers and termites in the base (but not enough to make it easy to dig out).  My body is now rejecting me  ;)

A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

It was a bit close to both my house and next door's (in suburbia), so me and the missus decided it was a candidate for some fitness training.  I've heard of too many horror stories of the "percussive" method of removing stumps even when they are well away from civilisation, let alone in town.

I cut the roots with an old axe and work the pick, then I rest while she digs out some dirt, then she rests while I cut/pick, repeat until there is nothing substantial holding the stump in the ground.  It's not too bad as a high intensity work-out for the upper body.
